Love of Your Life
Once upon a time there was a teacher and his student. They lay down under a big tree near a big grass field. Then suddenly, the student asked the teacher,
Student: Teacher, I'm confused about how we find our soul mate. Can you please help me?
Teacher stays silent for a few seconds.
Teacher: Well, it's a pretty hard question.
Teacher: Look on that way. There is a lot of grass there. Why don't you trying walking there. The only rule is that you can only walk straight ahead but not backwards. On your way, try to find the most beautiful grass and pick it up for me. Pick only one grass.
Student: Well, ok then. Wait for me.
Student walks straight ahead to the grass field. A few minutes later...
Student: I'm back
Teacher: Well, I don't see any beautiful grass on your hand.
Student: On my journey, I found a few beautiful stalks of grass. However, I thought I would find a better one so I didn't pick any up. Before I knew it, I am at the end of the field and I hadn't picked any grass. I didn’t go back for the grasses as you told me to only walk straight ahead.
Teacher: That's what happens in real life. The grass refers to the people around you while beautiful grasses are those people that you are attracted to. You were comparing between the different grasses too much to notice the most beautiful grass. Similarly, when going through the path of life, please don't always compare your partner in the hope of finding a better soul mate. By doing that, you'll waste your lifetime away. Try to always accept what he/she is as nobody is perfect.
